Reporting
All accidents, injuries and potential safety hazards – including those outside the workplace that can impact work and the employee – must be reported immediately to your manager and HR representative via phone and email.
If you sustain an injury or illness at work you are required to record this in an Incident Report Form as soon as possible and email to hr@teg.com.au and your manager.
If an incident occurs on a client, contractor, supplier or venue site, follow the applicable incident response procedure in addition to the TEG reporting and notification process.
Reporting an incident, hazard or near miss is critical even if the injury or illness does not require medical attention.
Incidents/Near misses should be reported using the Incident/Near Miss Form. This form requires sign off from the injured person and their manager.

Roles and Responsibilities
Work, Health & Safety is a joint responsibility, every person in a workplace has a duty in relation to the safety of that workplace, including:
- The PCBU – must ensure the health and safety of its workers and that other persons are not put at risk from its work, so far as is reasonably practicable.
- Officers – have a duty to exercise due diligence to ensure that the PCBU complies with its duties.
- Workers – have a duty to take reasonable care for their own safety and ensure their actions do not adversely affect the health and safety of others. They must comply with reasonable instructions and cooperate with reasonable policies and procedures relating to health and safety, so far as they are reasonably able.
- Other persons at the workplace – have a duty to take reasonable care for their own safety and ensure their actions do not adversely affect the health and safety of others. They must comply with reasonable instructions relating to safety, so far as they are reasonably able.
Person Conducting a Business or Undertaking (PCBU’s)
The definition of a PCBU focuses on the work arrangements and the relationships to carry out the work. In addition to employers, a PCBU can be a corporation, an association, a partnership or sole trader.
A PCBU is a person providing direction in any way to another worker carring out the works.
You may be considered a PCBU if you:
- direct or influence work carried out by a worker
- engage or cause to engage a worker to carry out work (including through sub-contracting)
- have management or control of a workplace
A worker is anyone who carries out work for a PCBU, such as:
- an employee
- a contractor or sub-contractor
- an employee of a contractor or sub-contractor
- an employee of a labour hire company
- an apprentice or trainee
- a student gaining work experience
- an outworker
- a volunteer.
You can also be a PCBU and a worker if you carry out work for another PCBU.
At TEG, we have a number of roles which might come across contractors/labour hirers or manage a process/task and as such, fall into the definition of a PCBU.
We have arranged for meetings to discuss with individuals who fall into such roles, as if we are directing the person in any way to carry out the works then we are likely to hold safety responsibility to ensure workers are not exposed to risk.
If you are concerned you may be a PCBU or would like to learn more please contact your HR representative hr@teg.com.au
