The purpose of this policy to ensure that TEG has adequate insurance coverage for all of its activities, assets and people and to inform TEG employees of various insurance covers in the organisation.

TEG Insurance Policy

The sole authority for purchasing and managing TEG’s insurance program, with the exception of Workers Compensation insurance overseen by Human Resources, is vested in the Group Financial Controller.

TEG has the following insurances in place. The insurances mainly run from 30 September 2017 to 30th September 2018, with some exceptions.

PROCESS

Evidence of insurance will be provided in the form of a Certificate of Currency, issued by the TEG’s insurance brokers (AON). Request for Certificate of Currency are to be addressed to Richard Wilson, Group Financial Controller.

For any new type of events, information is required to assess risk – please contact Richard Wilson, Group Financial Controller for next steps.

For business travel cover, refer to Travel Policy (Travel Manager emergency contacts).

In the event of an insurance claim (non-travel related), please contact Richard Wilson, Group Financial Controller with details, and if appropriate also report the incident via WHS process.  Group Financial Controller will advise on next steps.

Employees are not to contact the insurers directly.

DEFINITIONS

Certificate of Currency (Insurance). A certificate that acts as proof that a particular policy has been issued. It normally includes the name of the underwriter (insurer), the Limit of Indemnity and the period during which the policy remains current.
